United Nations experts denounced on Monday the ‘staggering scale’ of executions in Iran in 2025, describing it as a ‘dramatic escalation’ that systematically violates the right to life. According to their figures, more than 1,000 individuals have been hanged so far this year in processes lacking guarantees and with a significant prevalence of drug-related offenses and espionage charges.
