Brazilian Attorney General, Minister Jorge Messias, stated on Monday (22) that the new sanctions imposed by the United States government on Brazilian authorities are ‘unjust’ and worsen a set of actions ‘incompatible with the peaceful and harmonious conduct of diplomatic and economic relations’ between the two countries. Messias said he receives ‘without fear’ the measures imposed against him. According to Reuters, the minister had his American visa canceled on Monday. ‘Faced with this unjust aggression, I reaffirm my full commitment to the constitutional independence of our Justice System and receive without fear the measure specifically directed against me. I will continue to carry out my duties with vigor and conscience on behalf of the Brazilian people,’ he stated.
