US Sanctions Over 50 Entities, Including 2 Indian Nationals, for Aiding Iran’s Energy Trade

The recent sanctions imposed by the US are part of the country’s efforts to restrict Iran’s petroleum and petrochemical exports. Among those targeted are two Indian nationals, Gaurav Ahuja and Soniya Shrestha. Gaurav Ahuja is associated with Mehdi Group, an entity involved in Iran’s energy sector. Soniya Shrestha owns Vega Star Ship Management Pvt Ltd, which operates a Comoros-flagged vessel, NEPTA, known for transporting Iranian-origin LPG to Pakistan since January 2025.
