Ways to Recognize Device Infection with a Virus Revealed to Russians

Leading expert on network threats, web developer at the cybersecurity vendor ‘Koda Security,’ Konstantin Gorbunov, stated that outgoing internet traffic could indicate a device infection with malicious software. In a conversation with ‘Lenta.ru,’ he also informed Russians on what to do if a virus has already affected their device. Gorbunov pointed out, ‘The first and most obvious sign of a device being infected is changes in its temperature and battery life. If a smartphone is overheating or a PC is loudly running its fan without an apparent reason, background programs might be at work.’ Another way to recognize a device infection is by checking battery consumption. If a phone quickly drains battery overnight despite no usage, it could indicate malicious software presence. Gorbunov also advised monitoring outgoing internet traffic, analyzing the volume against actual network activity. An unexpected increase in traffic could signal a threat.’
