The wife of Nepal’s former Prime Minister, Jhalanath Khanal, Rajyalaxmi Chitrakar, died on Tuesday (9) after suffering burns when her house was set on fire by protesters, according to News 18, a CNN affiliate in India. Chitrakar was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but succumbed to her injuries. Other leaders, including ministers and former prime ministers, were injured during the protest. The action, led by young Nepalese, is part of a wave of violent protests that have been hitting the country for the second consecutive day. On Monday (8), about 19 people died and another 100 were injured on the first day of protests.
