12,000 Years Later, Volcano Erupts in Ethiopia, Air India Flights Cancelled: Impact in India

Ethiopia experienced a sudden eruption of the Hayli Gubbi volcano on Sunday, 12,000 years later. Ash and sulfur dioxide emitted from the eruption have spread to Yemen and Oman, crossing the Red Sea, with an impact reaching an altitude of approximately 15 kilometers. India Meteorological Department alerted that the ash cloud reached India from Jodhpur Jaisalmer in Rajasthan. The ash from the Ethiopian volcano eruption landed in the skies of Delhi almost 4300 km away on Monday night, creating a hazy atmosphere. Weather alerts indicate that the ash is now moving towards the northeast.
