2 Lakh Ukrainian Stranded in America, Job Security and Safety at Risk under Trump Administration’s Tough Policies

International Desk: Nearly 200,000 Ukrainians residing in America are currently in turmoil. The Trump administration is implementing tough immigration policies and slowing down the humanitarian parole renewal for Ukrainian nationals. A program initiated by the Biden administration post the Russia-Ukraine war in 2022 allowed approximately 260,000 Ukrainians to stay and work in America for two years. However, after Trump took office in 2024, the renewal process was halted for several months citing security concerns. Thousands found themselves in legal limbo, leading many to lose their jobs, insurance, and source of income.
