A total of 418 thousand liters of Minyakita cooking oil will be sent to Eastern Indonesia to help stabilize prices ahead of the Christmas and New Year holidays in 2025/2026. The private companies involved in supplying Minyakita are PT Mahesi Agri Karya and Wilmar Group. TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA – As many as 418 thousand liters of Minyakita cooking oil will be sent to Eastern Indonesia to help stabilize prices ahead of the Christmas and New Year holidays in 2025/2026. Mario Josko, the Director of Trade Order at the Directorate General of Consumer Protection and Trade Order (PKTN) of the Ministry of Trade, shared the news during an inspection at Pasar Pucang Anom, Surabaya, on Friday (12/5/2025). PT Mahesi Agri Karya will supply 166 thousand liters of Minyakita for the needs in East Nusa Tenggara, Maluku, and Papua. Additionally, Wilmar Group will provide 162 thousand liters of Minyakita for North Sulawesi and 90 thousand liters for West Nusa Tenggara. ‘We hope that with this continuous supply, the price of Minyakita in Eastern Indonesia remains stable,’ said Mario as quoted from a press release on Saturday (12/6/2025). Mario’s visit to Surabaya is an effort to intensify surveillance over Minyakita distribution ahead of Nataru. Mario inspected the availability of stock and the affordability of Minyakita at the consumer level. One of the locations checked was Pasar Pucung, which is a monitored market. ‘Based on our observation, the availability of Minyakita stock is sufficient with prices compliant with the highest retail price of Rp15,700 per liter,’ said Mario. Pasar Pucang Anom receives Minyakita supply from PT Mahesi Agri Karya, PT Megasurya Mas, and Wilmar Group. Mario urged producers to prioritize the domestic market obligation (DMO) distribution of Minyakita to retail traders in monitored markets continuously and uniformly, as well as to comply with the applicable regulations. ‘The Ministry of Trade will continue to strengthen coordination and conduct surveillance in various other areas,’ said Mario. ‘In addition to ensuring stock availability and price compliance, surveillance is also carried out to guarantee product compliance as a consumer protection effort,’ he continued. According to Ministry of Trade’s SP2KP data, the average national price of Minyakita remained stable at Rp16,700 per liter during the first week of December. This is still above the government-set HET.
