AfD in Sochi: Political Meeting or Provocation?

The General Secretary of the Christian Social Union, Martin Huber, referred to the trip as an “act of national betrayal,” calling Russia a “terrorist state.” Huber mentioned that Russia purposely supports the “creation of ‘Kremlin parties,’ like the AfD,” to weaken German democracy. He finds it particularly problematic that the party leadership and the leadership of the parliamentary group seem to endorse this mission.
