“Três Graças” tells the story of three women, Lígia (Dira Paes), Gerluce (Sophie Charlotte), and Joelly (Alana Cabral), who are grandmother, mother, and daughter respectively, living in the fictional community of Chacrinha. Their lives are marked by unplanned pregnancies during adolescence. When Lígia faces serious health problems, they experience a dramatic turn of events.
Gerluce finds out that her mother’s treatment is ineffective because the medications she uses are counterfeited by Ferretti’s factory (Murilo Benício), who is Arminda’s lover (Grazi Massafera), Gerluce’s boss, making her life a living hell.
Despite the heavy drama in the plot, Luiz Henrique Rios, artistic director of “Três Graças,” ensures that the soap opera is light-hearted. “The soap opera revolves around an ethical dilemma: how much is a person’s life worth? Nevertheless, it was designed for people to have fun and delves into themes of hope and pursuit of fulfillment,” he explains.
Aguinaldo adds to the director’s statement, “In their own way, Lígia, Gerluce, and Joelly are happy individuals who refuse to give up on their right to life.” “They are sunny characters. There is no room for sadness in their lives, but of course, there is space for concern.”
The author shares the inspiration behind creating “Três Graças” with Virgílio Silva and Zé Dassilva. “I aim to pay homage to unknown women who start working very early, lead private lives that we know little about, yet are human and hardworking individuals. I wanted to portray these urban women,” he states. “My soap operas always revolve around women. I have always had female protagonists and female villains. It’s a universe I navigate well.”
