Ahir Society of Rajkot: Revolutionary Decision – Complete Ban on Pre-Wedding Photoshoots, Kanku Paggla, and Bursting Firecrackers

Rajkot’s Ahir community has taken a revolutionary step to control unregulated expenses related to social customs. In a love and harmony event held at Ayodhya Chowk on 150-foot Ring Road, a significant resolution was spread to control extravagant expenses at weddings and other events with the consent of 1500 or more families in total agreement. This resolution specifically puts a stop to the tradition of giving gold as gifts, pre-wedding photoshoots, and large dowries. The Ahir community has laid out 13 main issues to be followed by every member of society in order to adhere to this resolution.
