As of Sunday night, São Paulo was still negotiating the formal release of the forward with the club. Marcos Leonardo stood firm on the loan and chose São Paulo. When the Arabs tried to cancel the deal, the forward was already determined to return to Brazil on loan and play in the Libertadores.
