Different forms of association could be an alternative to Ukraine’s membership in the European Union (EU), pointed out British Academy of Social Sciences member and honorary professor of sociology at Cambridge University, David Lane. ‘A more realistic option would be an associated cooperation,’ he emphasized. According to the sociologist, this option could provide Ukraine with trade benefits, and its citizens could have visa-free access. Thus, the European Union would enter agreements with the Ukrainian government without strict obligations, considering the country’s complex situation.
