Ancelotti calls up John, former Botafogo player, for Brazilian national team games

The Brazilian Football Confederation announced that Carlo Ancelotti has called up goalkeeper John, former Botafogo player who is now at Nottingham Forest, for the upcoming friendly matches of the Brazilian national team. John will replace Ederson from Fenerbahce, who suffered an injury during a training session yesterday and had to be replaced. This will be John’s first call-up since his move to English football last month, at the age of 29. Brazil will have Bento (Al-Nassr), Hugo Souza (Corinthians), and John (Nottingham Forest) as goalkeepers for the matches against South Korea and Japan. The friendlies are scheduled for October 10th and 14th, respectively.
