The Asia Cup 2025 is scheduled to start in the United Arab Emirates, marking the beginning of another thrilling chapter in the tournament’s history. Back in 1984, India clinched the title in the last Asia Cup held in the UAE, contested only by India, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan. Led by Sunil Gavaskar, India defeated Sri Lanka in the final by six wickets to emerge as champions. In 1986, India, under the leadership of Dilip Vengsarkar, reclaimed the title in Sri Lanka by defeating Pakistan in the final.
