At least 375 people have died this week in Thailand, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka due to floods, leaving dozens missing and nearly four million affected amid intense heavy rains that are setting records in some Southeast Asian cities. The total number of deaths tripled this Friday as authorities were able to advance in damage assessment as the rains subsided, especially in Thailand, where there are 145 fatalities and over a million homes affected in several southern provinces. Numbers also surged in Indonesia, with 79 people missing in three provinces on Sumatra Island, where 174 deaths have been reported. Bad weather also added 56 fatalities in Sri Lanka and 21 with unknown whereabouts.
