Authorities rescue a survivor from a collapsed school in Indonesia

A survivor was rescued on Wednesday (1) from an Islamic school that collapsed and left around 90 people trapped under the rubble, while desperate parents are pleading for efforts to find those still buried. The Islamic school in Indonesia’s North Sumatra province caved in late on Tuesday due to heavy rain. With dozens still missing, authorities worked tirelessly to rescue survivors and retrieve the bodies of those who did not survive the tragic incident. ‘I heard people screaming for help,’ said the survivor after being brought out from the debris by rescue teams. The exact cause of the collapse is yet to be determined, as investigations continue.
