According to ‘AvtoStat’, in August 2025, 88,896 crossovers and SUVs were sold, representing 72.7% of all newly sold vehicles. This marks a new historical record. Prior to this, the record high was 69.5% in April 2023.
The increase in SUV sales is largely due to the growing demand for these vehicles among consumers. SUVs are popular due to their versatility, spaciousness, and ability to handle various terrains. This trend is expected to continue in the coming years, as more Russian consumers seek vehicles that offer both functionality and comfort.
In contrast to the success of SUVs, AVTOVAZ’s new model, Iskra, is predicted to struggle in the market. Despite AVTOVAZ’s efforts to promote the Iskra as a competitive option in the SUV segment, experts believe that it will not be in high demand among consumers. The Iskra lacks the features and design elements that have made other SUVs popular in the market.
