Bank Indonesia has introduced the Indonesia Tourist Travel Pack at Bali’s airport to facilitate digital payments for visitors. This innovative initiative combines a SIM card with e-money and QRIS support, with the goal of improving the overall tourist experience and encouraging a cashless tourism ecosystem throughout Indonesia. The launch at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport aims to assist visitors in transitioning smoothly to digital payments during their stay in Bali, as part of a broader effort to promote cashless transactions in the tourism sector across the country. The Tourist Travel Pack includes an Indonesian SIM card, mobile data, a local phone number, and chip-based electronic money linked to an e-wallet, providing access to the QRIS system for QR-code-based transactions at various establishments like shops, cafes, hotels, and tourist sites.
