The ‘will he or won’t he’ puzzle was finally resolved as Mohsin Naqvi arrived at the ICC headquarters in Dubai on Friday (November 7) afternoon. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman had been a doubtful attendee at the ICC meetings, given his recent record but he finally showed up for the meeting in Dubai. Cricbuzz reveals that during the ICC Board meeting, the issue of the Asia Cup was raised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The BCCI pointed out that Naqvi, in his role as the chairman of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), was withholding the trophy, which they believe rightfully belongs to India, the Indian team, and the BCCI. Devajit Saikia, the BCCI secretary and Indian representative at the ICC Board, emphasized that the trophy should be handed over to India promptly. The discussion was informal in nature, happening during informal confabulations among board members. If necessary, a panel may be formed to address the issue, although as of Friday night, there was no confirmation of one being established.
