JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) — Under the grand dome of a mosque in Jakarta, 51 couples tied the knot in a mass Muslim wedding, expressing relief and gratitude. Most couples, residing in Jakarta, benefited from a program assisting those facing financial challenges, receiving dowries, food packages, gifts, and a photo session.
Endah Kartini, 44, newly married to Fauzi, a 35-year-old porter from East Jakarta, joyfully exclaimed, “Praise God! I am happy and feel calm now.” She expressed hopes for a family with two children.
Muhamad Rifaldi, 25, and Dea Marliana, 26, expressed gratitude for the event, which facilitated overcoming administrative obstacles. Marliana shared, “We have many aspirations. We aim to build a harmonious family and grow as better individuals as a couple.”
