Beijing People’s Art Theatre Premieres New Production of ‘Hamlet’, Starring Zheng Yunlong as Hamlet

“A thousand readers will see a thousand Hamlets.” The Beijing People’s Art Theatre recently premiered a new production of ‘Hamlet’. As the opening performance of the ‘2025 Beijing People’s Art International Theatre Invitation Exhibition’, this version of ‘Hamlet’ infuses classic themes with contemporary aesthetic vocabulary, offering a new interpretation by a cast of young actors. Feng Yuanzheng, artistic director of the Beijing People’s Art Theatre and co-director of ‘Hamlet’, expressed that the decision to cast popular actor Zheng Yunlong as Hamlet has garnered significant attention. This production of ‘Hamlet’ is scheduled to run at the Capital Theatre until October 12.
