BH: Man executed at gas station in front of son

A 46-year-old man was executed by gunfire on Monday afternoon (6/10) at a gas station on Teresa Cristina Avenue, in the Padre Eustáquio neighborhood, Northwest region of Belo Horizonte. According to the Military Police, the victim’s son witnessed the crime. He reported that he had arranged to meet his father at a nearby vehicle rental. While waiting at the counter, the man noticed an armed individual approaching and ran to the outside of the establishment. The victim was shot in the back and head, with the total number of gunshot wounds not disclosed. The Civil Police forensic team recovered 19 ammunition casings at the scene. One of the shots hit a rental car. The motive for the crime remains unknown. Despite the man’s past involvement in drug trafficking, his son stated that his father had not been involved in criminal activities for about three years. The body was taken to the Legal Medical Institute (IML) and the case will be investigated by the Civil Police.
