Big Breaking: Pakistan Army appoints Asim Munir as CDF, a crucial responsibility bestowed upon him

Web Desk: President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, has appointed Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir as the country’s first Chief of Defence Forces (CDF). His term will be for five years, during which he will also continue to hold the position of Chief of Army Staff (COAS). The appointment file sent by the government was approved by the President. What is the new position? Recently, the Pakistani parliament passed the 27th constitutional amendment, which abolished the position of Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) and created the new position of CDF. Now, the CDF will be in charge of the Army, Air Force, and Navy, as well as oversee joint operations, strategy, and inter-service coordination.
