During a search of the vehicles, the police found several jewels with inscriptions referring to the fugitive leader of a criminal faction, such as ‘Mano Arão.’ A thick gold chain featured a Star of David above the medallion, with the inscription ‘Israel Defense Force’ and the acronym IDF. There were also numerous rings, bracelets, and watches, including Michael Kors brands. Peixão’s nephew claimed ownership of the jewels. The Federal Highway Police (PRF) was alerted by Rio de Janeiro’s Civil Police, who suspected the trafficker might be fleeing Brazil with his relatives. The PRF apprehended two vehicles traveling from Rio to Corumbá, near Bolivia. The drivers claimed they were hired by an acquaintance living in Bolivia to transport the passengers from Rio to Corumbá after flying to the capital to spend a night before heading to Mato Grosso do Sul.
