The NDA alliance, comprising JD(U) and BJP, is leading in the Bihar election as Tejashwi Yadav’s Mahagatbandhan lags behind in early trends, according to the Election Commission of India. The key battle in Bihar is between Nitish Kumar and Tejashwi Yadav. Nitish Kumar, the current JD(U) leader, aims for his tenth term as CM. However, he has not been officially declared as the NDA CM candidate. On the other hand, Tejashwi Yadav from RJD is eyeing his first CM term to overthrow Nitish Kumar’s government. In the previous 2020 elections, the NDA narrowly retained power with 125 seats. This time, the NDA alliance, including HAM and other partners, seeks re-election. The Mahagatbandhan alliance, led by Tejashwi Yadav, hopes to capitalize on anti-incumbency and promises of change to win.
