BKSAP and Campus Collaborate to Support Indonesia’s Readiness Towards OECD and IEU Implementation

Chairman of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Body (BKSAP) of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Mardani Ali Sera, believes that collaboration between parliament, government, and universities is crucial in ensuring Indonesia’s readiness for two significant moments in the country’s economic development.

The collaboration between BKSAP DPR RI and UIN Syarif Hidayatullah is aimed at supporting Indonesia’s preparedness for joining the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and implementing the Indonesia-European Union Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IEU-CEPA) by 2027.

Mardani Ali Sera emphasized the importance of working together to strengthen Indonesia’s capacity to face the challenges posed by OECD accession and IEU-CEPA implementation.

The cooperation between the parliamentary body and the university is part of a broader strategy to enhance Indonesia’s competitiveness on the global stage and ensure the country is well-equipped to benefit from international trade agreements.

By leveraging the expertise and resources of academia, government, and parliament, Indonesia aims to enhance its economic resilience and foster a more sustainable and inclusive economy.

The joint efforts of BKSAP DPR RI and UIN Syarif Hidayatullah underscore the commitment of Indonesian institutions to work together towards a common goal of preparing the country for the opportunities and challenges of the global economy.

Through this collaboration, Indonesia seeks to create a conducive environment for innovation, knowledge-sharing, and capacity-building to drive economic growth and prosperity for all its citizens.
