Boeing Faces Civil Trial in the Aftermath of Deadly Ethiopia Crash

More than six years after the tragic crash of a Boeing 737 Max jet in Ethiopia, the first civil trial directly related to the incident, which resulted in the loss of all 157 lives on board, seems likely to move forward. While Boeing has settled the majority of wrongful death lawsuits filed by families of the victims, two remaining cases are scheduled to be heard in front of a federal court jury as early as Tuesday. The trial is expected to take place in Chicago, the previous headquarters of Boeing, and will not focus on the company’s liability, as Boeing has already taken responsibility for the disaster that befell Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302.
