Botafogo secures a spot in the next Libertadores after beating Grêmio

Botafogo defeated Grêmio 3-2 on Saturday at the Nilton Santos Stadium, for the 35th round of the Brazilian Championship. With the victory, the team reached 58 points and mathematically secured a place in the next Libertadores edition. It remains to be seen if the qualification will be direct to the group stage or to the preliminary phase. Cuiabano, Artur, and Marçal scored the goals for Botafogo, while André and Carlos Vinicius scored for Grêmio. Botafogo will face Corinthians next Sunday at 4 pm in São Paulo. On Tuesday, Grêmio will host Palmeiras at 9:30 pm.
