Brazil defeats Japan in tie-break and wins bronze at Women’s Volleyball World Championship

The Brazilian team dominated the first two sets, with Gabi shining as the highest scorer of the match with 35 points. Another highlight for Brazil was their blocks, with Júlia Kudiess standing out by knocking down five balls, while Diana and Rosamaria followed closely with three successful blocks.
In the third set, Japan improved and opened an eight-point lead to secure the victory. In the following set, the Brazilian team started strong but had moments of instability, allowing the Japanese team to win narrowly with a score of 29-27. The decision came down to the tie-break, where Gabi once again shone, leading the green and yellow team to victory.
The Brazilian team adds to their collection of medals at the World Championship, now totaling six: four silvers and two bronzes. On the other hand, Japan continues their 15-year drought without reaching the podium, despite being the second most successful team with seven total medals (three golds, three silvers, and one bronze).
The women’s competition’s grand final will take place at 9:30 AM (Brasília time) this Sunday, between Turkey and Italy, and will be broadcasted on sportv2 with live updates on ge.
Following the Women’s World Championship, the men’s tournament will start on September 12 and run until the 28th.
