Brazil starts against Morocco in New York

Brazil kicks off in the World Cup at 7:00 pm on Saturday, June 13, at Metlife Stadium in New York, at the Metlife Stadium, in New Jersey. On the East Coast time, 6:00 pm local time. The decision was made at a FIFA technical council meeting in Washington early Saturday afternoon. The second game will take place in Philadelphia the following Friday at 9:00 pm against Haiti. The third match will be the following Wednesday, on the 24th, in Florida, at the Miami Gardens stadium. The initial expectation was for the third match to be in Atlanta in the afternoon with a climate-controlled stadium. Miami may fatigue the team due to the warmer weather. However, the choices reduce the impact of the feared East Coast heat by playing one match at night and two at 6:00 pm local time, late afternoon in New York and Miami. It lessens but doesn’t eliminate the challenge. It also reinforces the trend of having the New York Red Bulls training center in Harrison as the training ground. It is now confirmed. The Brazilian delegation will spend the entire next week evaluating the training centers in the cities of the group stage, as well as facilities for the friendly match that will be scheduled in the World Cup territory days before the tournament. If Brazil tops Group C, they could play the second stage in Houston, round-of-16 in New York, quarter-finals in Miami, semi-finals in Atlanta, and the final again in New York at the Metlife Stadium in New Jersey. The CBF delegation has return flights to Brazil scheduled for the following Sunday, the 14th, after completing all inspections and final decisions.
