A rare and spectacular fireball illuminated the skies over Delhi, Gurugram, and parts of Rajasthan at around 1:20 am on Saturday. Initially thought to be a bolide, further investigations revealed that it was most likely debris from a Chinese rocket launch, particularly from the Long March 3B rocket stage. The debris, identified as CZ-3B R/B with ID 61188, was expected to re-enter Earth’s atmosphere around that time.

Experts and astronomers were quick to analyze the event, leading to the conclusion that the fiery display was consistent with a re-entry event of space debris.
