JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) – Lindsay Sandiford, a British woman who was facing death row for drug smuggling in Indonesia, will now be returning to the United Kingdom. This decision came as a result of an agreement signed between the two nations to repatriate Sandiford and another Briton who is currently serving a life sentence. Sandiford, 68 years old, had been imprisoned in Indonesia since 2012, after being found guilty of smuggling cocaine into the country. With this new agreement, she will no longer be facing the death penalty. The two countries worked together to come to this resolution, which will allow Sandiford to return home after spending nearly a decade on death row.
