Bus Still Backbone of Inter-City Travel in Indonesia

The bus industry is considered to be a major player in national connectivity and economy. The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) and redBus emphasize the importance of digitalization to improve services and reach more passengers. Through the redBus People’s Choice Awards, various operators and favorite terminals are publicly appreciated. The Ministry of Transportation notes a significant increase in bus passengers during the Lebaran 2025 transport period, reaching 300,973 passengers on H-4 Lebaran, a 94% increase from the previous day. Data also shows a 10.8% increase in daily bus passengers compared to normal movement for the period before Nataru 2024/2025.
