Can India’s BrahMos and Chinese CM-302 anti-ship missiles work together? Indonesia says YES!

Indonesia is moving towards a powerful missile defense setup by acquiring BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles from India and the CM-302 export variant of the YJ-12 anti-ship missiles from China. This ambitious project, known as the ‘missile umbrella’, aims to effectively combine the strengths of both missile systems to enhance Indonesia’s maritime security capabilities. The goal is to have BrahMos missiles act as the first line of defense by targeting large enemy warships from a distance, while the CM-302 missiles, particularly the YJ-12 variant, will serve as a protective shield for close-range combat against smaller vessels and amphibious vehicles that may breach Indonesia’s waters.
