Casares Visits Hospital to See Oscar, Who is Contemplating Retirement

São Paulo President Julio Casares visited midfielder Oscar at Hospital Albert Einstein on Monday night, after attending the official presentation of the Paulistão at Arena Mercado Livre. Oscar had stayed at the hospital for observation after feeling unwell during exams at CT da Barra Funda. He had discomfort while exercising on the stationary bike and was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Internally, sources at the club admit the possibility of contract termination. However, the official word to UOL was to remain ‘calm’ and focus on the player’s well-being before making any decisions about his future. Oscar is considering retiring at the end of this season, which has been marred by several injuries.

He was absent for three months due to three fractured vertebrae, and when he was about to return, he was diagnosed with a calf muscle problem. The midfielder planned to use the FIFA break to speed up his recovery, but faced a setback on Tuesday. São Paulo has not set a timeline for his return.
