CBF to prepare party and move Flamengo’s game forward in case of title

If they confirm the Brazilian title today, Flamengo will lift the trophy at Maracanã and cause a change in the last round of the Brasileirão games. The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) will take the Brasileirão trophy to Maracanã tonight. If Flamengo beats Ceará, they will confirm the title and celebrate on the pitch. The team could still be champions without winning — they will need Palmeiras not to win against Atlético-MG. Both matches kick off at 9:30 pm (Brasília time).
The only way Flamengo won’t become champions today is if they stumble against Ceará and Palmeiras defeat Atlético-MG. Otherwise, they will confirm their second title in less than a week — having won the Libertadores last Saturday.
If Flamengo win the title, their match against Mirassol in the final round will be rescheduled. The teams are scheduled to play on Sunday at 4 pm, but it will be moved to Saturday in case of a Flamengo victory.
The FIFA Club World Cup is the reason. Flamengo debuts in the tournament next Wednesday against Cruz Azul in Qatar. With the change, the team would gain an extra day to travel and train for the match.
If the title doesn’t come today, nothing changes. Flamengo will have to play at the same time as Palmeiras on Sunday since both will still have a shot at the title.
Coincidences ahead
If they win the title today, it will come with coincidences related to the year 2019. In that season, Flamengo also won the Libertadores and Brasileirão titles in the same week.
The 2019 Libertadores final was held at Monumental U Stadium in Lima, just like in 2025. It was won a day before the Brazilian title was confirmed.
