Jakarta – Celebrities have once again come together, this time to support the idea of buying forests. The idea originated from the environmental activist group Pandawara Group. They proposed raising funds to purchase forests in Indonesia to prevent land conversion. What started as a casual idea has received tremendous support, especially after the public witnessed the severity of recent deforestation and disasters, including those in Sumatra. One of the most notable responses came from singer Denny Caknan, who immediately pledged Rp 1 billion to realize the idea. ‘It may seem impossible. It may seem absurd. But upon reflection, it makes sense,’ wrote Denny. ‘Although I cannot figure out how to buy it, @pandawaragroup symbolizes our concern for the environment. I am just a local artist offering a bit of help to Pandawara’s dream and for Indonesia.’ Not only Denny Caknan, but other artists also joined in the comments section. Denny Sumargo expressed interest in contributing a significant sum for the forests. ‘My first Rp 1 billion,’ he wrote. Vidi Aldiano also showed his support with a brief but meaningful ‘Count me in.’ Attah Halilintar and content creator Ladislao Camara Carranza contributed with similar comments. Rayi Putra from the band RAN wrote, ‘Agreed.’ The idea of buying forests has truly opened many people’s eyes. Let’s see how it progresses.
