Celso Sabino announces resignation from Lula government

Minister of Tourism Celso Sabino officially submitted his resignation on Friday (26), following last week’s announcement when União Brasil party gave 24 hours for its affiliates to leave positions in President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s government. Sabino stated he would stay until the next Thursday (2) at the request of President Lula, to accompany him during the COP30 completion event in Belém. ‘I had a conversation today with the President, due to the decision made by my party to leave the government, and I came here to fulfill my role, handed the President my resignation letter from the Ministry of Tourism, complying with my party’s decision,’ Sabino announced. ‘My clear intention is to continue the work we have been doing, maintaining a dialogue, and today the President hinted at the possibility of expanding this dialogue with the União Brasil party to see what the future holds,’ he continued.
