Cruzeiro’s goal for Thursday night (4) is to secure a spot on the Brazilian Championship ‘podium’. The team will face Botafogo at 7:30 pm at Mineirão Stadium for the 37th round of the tournament. Coach Leonardo Jardim will send the strongest lineup onto the field for the match.
The team has the return of Argentine midfielder Lucas Romero, who was suspended in the match against Ceará last Saturday (November 29). Another comeback is that of forward Kaio Jorge, who was rested in the match in Fortaleza due to muscle fatigue. The goal is to defeat Botafogo and secure third place, as in the next Sunday’s (7) match against Santos, the Portuguese coach is likely to field a reserve team.
The only absence in the blue team is forward Gabigol. Against Ceará, the player received his third yellow card and, therefore, will be suspended on Thursday (4).
Starters: Cássio; William, Fabrício Bruno, Lucas Villalba and Kaiki Bruno; Lucas Romero, Lucas Silva, Christian and Matheus Pereira; Luis Sinisterra and Kaio Jorge.
