Child Under 10 from Indonesia Tests Positive for Measles in Kyoto, Urging Caution

A boy under 10 who had just returned from Indonesia was diagnosed with measles in Kyoto. The child was at Kyoto Station, Fushimi Inari Shrine, and traveled to Osaka. The Kyoto government is urging caution due to the risk of transmission to those who had contact with the child. According to health authorities in Kyoto, the child experienced fever and cough on November 16, and was confirmed positive for measles on November 21, 2025. The child arrived at Kyoto Station (Shimogyo District) by the Tokaido Shinkansen train around 1:00 PM on the same date. On the morning of November 17, the child visited Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine in Fushimi District.
