Chinese Army Removes 9 High Generals Accused of Corruption

Beijing: Accusations of corruption led to the removal of nine high generals in the Chinese army. Most of those removed were members of the Central Committee, which makes decisions for the party, according to the BBC report. Among the nine, some were already under investigation for alleged financial crimes. The corruption allegations are part of President Xi Jinping’s ongoing anti-corruption campaign, aiming to clean up the Communist Party before its 20th National Congress in 2022.
