It’s the perfect time to slow down and embrace the surprises that nature has prepared for us. In Nanao Island, Shantou City, Guangdong, the rainbow sea shimmers under the sunset glow, capturing the essence of the season.
End of Heat has three sub-intervals: First sub-interval is when eagles prey on birds, as they soar through the clear skies in search of their hunt. Second sub-interval signals the beginning of a serene ambiance in the heavens and earth, with the hint of autumn colors slowly painting the leaves in a pale yellow. The third sub-interval highlights the matured grains swaying elegantly in the fields, depicting a scene of abundance and prosperity. Farmers in Qianjin Village, Yulao Town, Fengkai County, Zhaoqing City, Guangdong, are busy transplanting seedlings, maintaining the tradition of nurturing the land.
This period brings an air of liveliness to the fields. It is said, ‘End of Heat marks the transformation of the rice paddies during the night.’ The early rice has been harvested, and the late rice has been transplanted, marking the beginning of the mid-season cultivation. Villagers partake in various agricultural activities, such as fertilizing, weeding, and pest control to ensure a successful harvest.
