Cléber Xavier sacked by Santos after embarrassment against Vasco

Cléber Xavier could not withstand the historical 6-0 defeat to Vasco on Sunday in the Brazilian Championship. Santos announced the coach’s dismissal minutes after the final whistle. The team had recently won against Juventude (3-1) and Cruzeiro (2-1) but was humiliated by Vasco, coached by Fernando Diniz, in front of their own fans, packing MorumBIS Stadium in São Paulo. Cléber Xavier leaves Santos after 15 games in charge, with five wins, four draws, and six losses, resulting in a poor 42% win rate.
