In a recent speech, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis declared, ‘We are followers of Lord Ram and we will destroy Ravana’s Lanka ourselves,’ in direct response to remarks made by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde regarding BJP’s arrogance. The verbal clash between BJP and Shiv Sena in the Dahanu municipal council elections has escalated, with both parties positioning themselves against each other, despite being part of the same coalition in the past. During a campaign rally in Dahanu last Saturday, Deputy Chief Minister Shinde had targeted former BJP municipal councilors, accusing them of authoritarianism and likening them to arrogant Ravanas. Prior to heading to Nagpur for local election campaigns on Wednesday, Chief Minister Fadnavis responded to Shinde, stating, ‘We are devotees of Lord Ram. Our candidate is also a follower of Jai Shree Ram. Hence, we do not reside in Lanka, instead, we will destroy it ourselves.’ Fadnavis also reassured the locals about creating employment opportunities through port development projects, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing the community’s welfare. By revising the 1991 notification applied to Dahanu taluka, the untouched natural resources of Dahanu will be preserved, ensuring its ecological stability. Furthermore, Fadnavis highlighted various development projects in Palghar district, including the fourth Mumbai harbor, which will commence amidst military conflicts.
