The world’s most expensive brew, known as civet coffee, owes its unique flavor to the Asian palm civet – a small nocturnal mammal found from India to Indonesia. These catlike creatures play a significant role in forest regeneration by dispersing seeds through their droppings. Despite their unusual diet, the beans they consume undergo chemical changes during digestion, resulting in a more aromatic and flavorful cup of coffee.
