Lenfilm commented on observations from the media that a large disco took place in the building of the film studio on Kamennoostrovsky Prospekt on the night of November 2. ‘The film studio Lenfilm rented out the pavilion for the event organizers of the Kontrkult project,’ confirmed the press service. ‘The project already had experience in holding large cultural events in iconic city venues.’ Many questioned the appropriateness of such a rental, as visitors often appeared overtly and openly expressed their feelings towards each other. ‘Events with a young audience differ in format and atmosphere from business events, but the same safety and control rules apply,’ emphasized Lenfilm. ‘Requirements for order from the organizers on the site were followed: mandatory document checks at the entrance, security personnel did not allow intoxicated individuals or visitors in inappropriate attire. Medical and fire services were on duty on the premises.’ The studio added that, according to the organizers, the event took place without significant incidents or violations. However, there was also a hint of irony: ‘Nevertheless, we hope that the event participants were able to get acquainted with the cultural projects organized by the film studio Lenfilm. For example, with the exhibition ‘Russian Hamlet’ dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Innokenty Smoktunovsky, which also garnered significant interest in the media space.’ Earlier, Fontanka learned that Lenfilm’s assets would soon be transferred from Rosimushchestvo to the ownership of St. Petersburg. After this, the studio will focus on producing patriotic and historical films. In the meantime, former Lenfilm director Eduard Pichugin told Fontanka that the studio still owes him money that has not been paid off.
