Commissioning of El Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant Strengthens Egypt’s Energy Security – Putin

The commissioning of the El Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) will significantly strengthen Egypt’s energy security, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday. Earlier in the day, Putin and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Sisi participated in the ceremony of installing the reactor vessel of the first power unit of the El Dabaa NPP in Egypt. Putin mentioned that the planned commissioning of four power units at the El Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant with a total capacity of 4,800 megawatts will enhance Egypt’s energy security. He also assured that Russia will provide assistance to Egypt throughout all stages of the nuclear project’s implementation. Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Sisi expressed his gratitude towards Russian President Vladimir Putin for his participation in the ceremony, highlighting the mutual respect that characterizes the relations between Egypt and Russia. Sisi emphasized that the bilateral partnership between the two countries continues to develop steadily. Putin also added that the relations between Russia and Egypt are established on a foundation of equality, respect, and consideration of each other’s interests. He expressed his appreciation for Sisi’s consistent attention to the peaceful nuclear energy project and the overall expansion of contacts with Russia. Putin mentioned that Russia supports this approach, further solidifying the strong relationship between the two nations.
