An Ethiopian man convicted of sexually assaulting a teenager in the UK has been deported to his home country after a mistaken release. Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood confirmed the deportation of Hadush Gerberslasie Kebatu, stating that every effort was made to remove him from British soil. Kebatu, a symbol of the unauthorized immigration debate, entered England in a boat and was arrested in July for assaults. His case led to protests and reignited discussions on tackling unauthorized migration in the UK. Kebatu, convicted of sexual assault, was mistakenly released last week, triggering a police search before his re-arrest in London.
