According to the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the open unemployment rate (TPT) in Indonesia decreased from 4.82 percent to 4.76 percent in February-March 2025. However, the actual number of unemployed individuals has increased. Calculating the exact number of unemployed people, BPS reported that there were around 6.96 million jobless individuals in Indonesia during the same period. This high number places Indonesia at the top of ASEAN countries in terms of unemployment rates.
